Hoffman Horticultural Perlite is a lightweight soil conditioner, a white, powdery material, that loosens clay soil, reduces caking and improves drainage and aeration.
- Can be used to start seeds, propagate cuttings and store bulbs
- Blend with peat moss and vermiculite for custom soilless mix
- Use as a soil amendment or alone as a medium for hydroponics or for starting cuttings When used as an amendment, it has high permeability and low water retention and helps prevent soil compaction
- For seeds, sow on a well-watered mixture of equal parts perlite and Sphagnum Moss Peat. Alternatively, add 1 part perlite to 2 parts ready-mixed potting compost
- Not for water-loving plants
