Asparagus-Mary Washington Seed

Asparagus 'Mary Washington' is a high-yield, disease-resistant heirloom variety known for its tender, green spears. Start seeds indoors by soaking them for 24 hours and planting them ½ inch deep in warm soil (70-85°F), or sow directly after the last frost. Transplant seedlings to a sunny, well-drained spot, spacing them 12-18 inches apart. Keep soil moist, mulch for weed control, and fertilize in spring and summer. Avoid harvesting the first year; begin light harvesting in year two, with full harvests by year three. This perennial can produce for 15-20 years, offering excellent flavor and high yields.
