The Oakleaf Hydrangea (Hydrangea quercifolia) is a deciduous shrub native to the southeastern United States, valued for its attractive foliage, showy flowers, and stunning fall color. Growing to about 4-6 feet in height and width, it forms a rounded shape with large, oak-like leaves that turn vibrant shades of red, orange, and burgundy in autumn. Its cone-shaped flower clusters emerge in late spring to early summer, starting creamy white and aging to pink or purple. Thriving in partial shade to full sun and well-drained soil, it's versatile, suitable as a specimen plant or in mass plantings. Low-maintenance, it requires minimal pruning and regular watering. Oakleaf hydrangea also features exfoliating bark for winter interest and dried flower clusters for added visual appeal.
