Vinca (Vinca minor), also known as periwinkle, is a low-growing, trailing perennial valued for its dense evergreen foliage and abundant, star-shaped flowers. Blooming from spring through summer, the flowers range in shades of violet, blue, or white, providing long-lasting color in garden beds, borders, and groundcovers. This hardy plant thrives in partial to full shade and well-drained soil, spreading rapidly to form a carpet-like cover that suppresses weeds. Vinca minor is low-maintenance, deer-resistant, and ideal for erosion control, woodland gardens, or as a colorful, resilient groundcover in both formal and naturalistic landscapes.
